Acorn Cottage is an ideal retreat to escape, unwind, and relax. It is set in traditional old hamlet with easy access in all directions whether walking or driving.

“Acorn is a cosy cottage that is exactly as described and you see in the photos. We stayed for an extended Easter weekend with our 14yo daughter. The spare room set up for sleeping was comfy for her. Holmfirth's picturesque centre is a pleasant 20 min walk away and has plenty of places to eat out, with a couple of places closer by. We ate out in the evening but there's a good choice of supermarkets in Holmfirth and cooking at the cottage was fine with with enough pans and utensils to cook a breakfast. If it's cold outside the wood burner is easy to use and clean and makes the place very warm. We went for walks across the field opposite and saw some of the new born lambs and ventured into the Peaks. We all loved it.!”

Quick answer to our most common inquiries

At Acorn Cottage we allow our guests a 3.00pm check in as standard. This gives us time to allow the changeover to take place and allow the cleaners to the time to do a great job without being rushed.

It is sometimes possible to check in early however this is subject to availability. Please get in touch if you need to arrive earlier or would like to drop bags off

At Acorn Cottage guests are expected to leave by 11.00 am on the day of departure.

We don’t offer a late checkout generally, but on request we can consider if it is possible based on bookings on your day of departure or the cleaner’s schedule. Please contact us to confirm late checkout requests.

You can use the booking form on this site or use Airbnb if you prefer.

The main bedroom has a King size bed for two adults.

The second room has a sofa-bed that becomes a small double and sleeps one adult

There is a travel cot for babies that can be provided and you can set this up in either of the bedrooms.

All guests are provided a welcome pack on arrival which consist of local products, and in the kitchen you will find tea, coffee and a small bottle of milk to help you settle in

Dishwasher and laundry tablets are provided in the kitchen and a generous supply of towels and personal care products in the bathroom.

There will be enough firewood to cover you for a couple of nights, more is available at supermarkets or the Londis close by.

At Acorn Cottage we offer free fast true fibre broadband wi-fi internet access throughout the property so you can confidently “work from home” and stream your favourite channels on the two smart TVs. Username and password is in the guest handbook.

A selection of board games is available if you want some offline time.
